In March 2006, Bob Jaffe started Missoula Gov as a listserv – an old school kind of email discussion format. It was a precursor technology for today’s blogs. The list was set up to give Bob a way to keep his constituents informed and receive their feedback and thoughts on council business.
Bob’s first line in his first email was…
“The first Issue I would like some feedback on is the whole renter safety question.”
At its height, MissoulaGov was a lively discussion-oriented listserv with several hundred members and multiple daily emails. Bob retired from City Council after two terms in January 2014, but the need for engaged citizens lives on. We’re so glad you’re interested and involved.
